ENGLISH 100 CREDIT: The Collection OptionIf you feel that you already possess the ability to write proficiently in multiple genres for academic and other audiences and, therefore, may not benefit from an English 100 course, you may submit a collection of your writing for review. If your collection of writing is approved, you will earn three credits for English 100 and will have fulfilled the Foundations-Written Communication (FW) requirement. Please note that in past years, only about half of the students who submitted were granted credit. Should you decide to submit a collection, please email mwp@hawaii.edu with your decision as soon as possible. A hold may be put on your registration if the FW requirement is not fulfilled in a timely manner. The collection requirements are as follows:
